Working in a busy IT Retail environment, this is a customer facing role. You will provide technical support to customer both in-person and remotely. Tasks can include system maintenance, virus removal, software installations and upgrades, and PC, Laptop and Mac repairs.

Trainee Technician based on the front line, very much customer facing working on shop floor. Daily tasks can include, but are not limited to;

Providing technical support to customers in shop mainly face to face.
Log, analyse and fix support cases, escalate as required
Provide technical recommendations to customer
Keep customers updated on case status
Build PC’s and configure other equipment and software
Install PC’s and other equipment and software
Provide user orientation training, Operating systems, office applications, smart phones
Write and maintain documentation

Desired Skills

The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate a natural interest in IT and technology in general. This could be as an IT hobbyist at home building custom PCs, maintaining a home server and offering IT support to family and friends. You should also have some customer service experience.

Excellent spoken and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task
Ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks
Ability to how empathy

Qualifications required

To be considered for this role, you must have a C/4 grade in both GCSE Maths & English, and in three or four other subjects at least. You should have a GCSE, BTEC or A Level in ICT or at least hands-on experience with the workings of computers and IT.

Future prospects

The business has hired apprentice graduates in to full-time roles in the past.
