Living Better
As a Community Health & Wellbeing Apprentice, you will support local communities to lead healthier lifestyles. You will help deliver and support activities that focus on physical activity, healthy eating and wellbeing, working alongside community organisations, health professionals and delivery partners.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to start a career in community health, physical activity or wellbeing and gain hands-on experience while completing an apprenticeship qualification.

As a Community Health and Wellbeing Apprentice you will:

Help build positive working relationships with community groups, sports organisations, health professionals and local partners.
Support partners who help deliver activities in the community.
Talk to local people to understand their needs and encourage them to get involved in activities.

Alongside your daily roles and responsibilities you will also be gaining your Community Sport and Health Officer L3 qualification.

Desired Skills

Friendly, approachable and supportive. Good communication skills, including listening and speaking with different people. Organised and able to manage your time with support. Willing to learn and take feedback positively. Comfortable working both as part of a team and independently in the community. Able to keep clear and accurate records. Basic IT skills (email, online systems, documents).

Qualifications required

Level 2 qualification in sport, physical activity or a related subject is desirable but not essential.

Future prospects

This role will support the organisations community healthy lifestyle programmes, supporting delivery on the ground. Career progression would be into a Programme Delivery Officer role within the wider Programmes team should there be a suitable vacancy at the end of the apprenticeship.

Community Sport and Health Officer Apprenticeship L3 including Functional Skills in Maths and English

Living Better was established in 2017 and over that time we have worked closely together on a number of projects and health and wellbeing initiatives to enable patients to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to reach their own health and wellbeing goals.
