The Apprentice Dance and Multi-Sports Coach will support the delivery of inclusive and engaging activities across Bradford Bulls Community Foundation programmes, with a particular focus on dance and the Luvabulls recreational dance group.
The role will support and lead weekly Luvabulls sessions, creating a welcoming environment where participants of different ages and abilities can develop their dance skills, confidence, teamwork and enjoyment.
This will include:
-Planning sessions
-Teaching choreography
-Preparing the group for community events, performances and Bradford Bulls matchdays.
The apprentice will also help deliver dance and multi-sports activities in schools and community settings, adapting sessions to meet the needs of participants and ensuring everyone has a positive and enjoyable experience.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
-Preparing activities
-Setting up and putting away equipment
-Maintaining attendance records
-Completing general housekeeping duties to keep working areas clean, safe and organised.
The apprentice will be expected to work effectively as part of the Foundation team while also using their initiative and working independently when required.
The role will involve building positive relationships with participants, families, schools and community partners, promoting activities and supporting the delivery of Foundation events and programmes.
Alongside practical coaching experience, the apprentice will complete structured training and assessments through Coach Core and Lifetime Learning. They will be expected to follow safeguarding, health and safety, equality and data protection procedures at all times.
This apprenticeship is part-funded and supported by Coach Core's charitable programme, creating employment opportunities for 16–24-year-olds who have faced barriers to education, employment or career progression. We support young people with the potential to succeed who may have experienced financial disadvantage, additional learning needs, caring responsibilities or other personal or socio-economic challenges. No previous experience is required – we're looking for enthusiasm, potential and a willingness to learn. Coach Core provides additional support throughout the apprenticeship, while the employer is responsible for the final recruitment decision.
Desired Skills
A genuine interest in dance, physical activity and community coaching. Some dance, performance, cheerleading or multi-sports experience is desirable, but formal coaching experience is not essential. Confidence supporting children and young people of different ages, abilities and backgrounds. Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with participants, families, schools and colleagues. A friendly, positive and inclusive approach. Willingness to learn, take feedback and develop new coaching skills. Good organisation and timekeeping, with the ability to prepare sessions, manage equipment and maintain basic records. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required. Reliable, responsible and able to use initiative. An understanding of safeguarding, health and safety and professional boundaries, or a willingness to learn. Availability to work regular evening sessions and occasional weekends or events. A full UK driving licence, or evidence of a driving test booking, is desirable BUT nont essential due to travel between venues.

Future prospects
This apprenticeship provides a strong pathway into a career in dance, sports coaching, education or community development. Previous apprentices have successfully progressed into full-time employment, with three securing roles in school settings and two gaining full-time positions within Bradford Bulls Community Foundation.
The successful candidate will gain practical experience, recognised training and ongoing support to help them develop their skills and explore future employment opportunities
