As a Group Work Facilitator Apprentice, you will be working towards the Adult Care Worker Level 2 apprenticeship over the duration of 15 months, alongside your daily roles and responsibilities.
To work within the learning environment at Change Grow Live (CGL) to gain experience in order to develop the skills and knowledge which will assist you to complete your qualification and progress in your career in the health and social care field in the future.
You will work as an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team at the service named above, to support delivery of high-quality provision by:
● Supporting service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey;
● With training, provide screening, assessment, psychosocial interventions, recovery planning and onward referral;
● Learn about and support reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community;
● Helping to promote carer, service user and community involvement;
● Supporting advocacy for service users to be able to access partnership services;
● Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination.
In addition to the Recovery Worker JD and Programmes Facilitator Role Specifics, the post holder will:
● Deliver psychosocial interventions as part of the Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service within the prison estate.
● Work in partnership with other healthcare providers as part of an Integrated Health and Wellbeing model.
● Be required to work with key prison stakeholders enabling effective coordination of service user treatment.
● To deliver group-based interventions as well as providing 1:1 support for hard to engage service users, specifically those not groupwork ready.
●To be creative and innovative so that the post best meets the needs of the service user, promoting access into treatment, and encouraging engagement with underrepresented communities.
● To provide a confidential, safe and secure learning environment for service users to include where possible a therapeutic environment.
● Assess suitability for groups related to risk and special needs, working closely with prison partners to schedule attendance.
