At Epic Partners you will work towards your L2 Community Activator Coach Qualification over the course of 15 Months.
Main Responsibilities:
● To work as part of a project delivery team to create fun, inspiring, and meaningful projects to children and young people.
● To develop, plan and lead sports and youth activities.
● Build relationships with schools and local organisations to enable effective delivery of services and activities.
● Collect monies and keep accurate records in accordance with Epics procedures.
● Support and contribute to promotional materials to raise awareness of the provision through parent groups, assembly’s, classroom drops, websites, social media, taster sessions, flyers etc.
● Ensure that all paperwork is completed for each session in a timely and accurate manner, to the standards required and outlined in Epic Partners policy and procedures.
● To assist the delivery team to programme and structure effectively and safely, the sessions on offer to young people and in line with all Government Covid-19 measures and Epic Partners Covid-19 Policy.
● To develop, support and motivate the delivery team to provide an exceptional programme offer for children and young people and be a role model for both the staff and young people, presenting a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
● To ensure all service and activity offers is well communicated and marketed.
● To comply with all policies and procedures, with reference to safeguarding, codes of conduct, health and safety, and equality and diversity, to ensure all activities are accessible.
● Provide risk assessments to ensure the facilities remain at a high standard to the support team and ensure the venues either indoors or outside is fit for purpose.
● To represent Epic Partners positively and effectively in all dealings with internal colleagues and external partners.
● To ensure that overall and programme participation targets are consistently met, for example attendance targets and outcomes targets for grant funded projects.
● To demonstrate commitment to the process of feedback and review of the departments delivery to measure performance, demonstrate the impact and ensure continuous improvement of delivery.
● To carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager or the Chief Executive Officer.
● Lead staff to ensure an outstanding and exemplary programme of activities is provided, which ensures active participation and equality of opportunity for all attending.
● Ensuring the activities being undertaken are capable of fulfilling/supporting the charity’s aims and mission and recognising and managing change if not.
● Developing and maintaining a culture that supports the achievement of high engagement and standards across the department.
● Overseeing risk for the specific areas of responsibility, with a particular focus on Safeguarding matters.
● Mentioning adherence to current safeguarding guidelines
● Providing regular evaluation of the service and utilising data for the continuous improvement of the service, as well as to provide reporting and monitoring documents for funders, trustees, partners, schools, and CEO as requested.
● Leading, and motivating a staff team to ensure a ‘best in class’, cohesive service, which is recognised and respected.
Carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function, commensurate with the level of responsibility of the post.
Desired Skills
This is an apprenticeship programme, designed to help you gain skills and experience ‘on the job.’ We aren’t looking for any previous coaching qualifications or experience but certain personal qualities and characteristics are a must. Enthusiastic Knowledge of barriers to young people Desire to help others Willingness to learn Successful applicants will be assisting and delivering sport and physical activity sessions in the community. Your sessions may be the highlight of their week- so you will need to be reliable, enthusiastic, energetic and committed!
Personal qualities
You must be enthusiastic about wanting to work within the sport and physical activity sector and be committed to inspiring others to be more physically active.
No prior coaching experience is required, but a willingness to learn, work hard and challenge yourself is essential.
Qualifications required
Missed out on getting your Maths and English GCSE’s? Don’t worry- you can still apply but you will need to complete Functional Skills Level 2 before you finish the apprenticeship. Our Learning Coaches can support you with this so don’t let this put you off!
