The Renewal Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Community Sport, Health & Youth Engagement Apprentice.
This role combines community engagement, physical activity, health and wellbeing, mentoring and youth work. Working alongside experienced staff, you will support activities that help children, young people and local residents become more active, healthier, more connected and more confident.
Key duties include:
Supporting the planning and delivery of sport, physical activity and wellbeing activities;
Building positive relationships with children, young people, families and community members;
Supporting mentoring activities and personal development opportunities;
Encouraging people to make positive lifestyle choices and engage in their community;
Collecting attendance information, participant feedback and monitoring data.; Ensuring activities are inclusive & welcoming;
Undertaking training and coursework as part of the Level-3 Community Sport & Health Officer Apprenticeship.
The role involves working directly with members of the public, including children and young people.
Some evening and occasional weekend working may be require and activities may take place indoors and outdoors throughout the year.
The role is community-based and involves travelling between community venues across St. Ann's, Sneinton and Clifton.

This apprenticeship is part-funded and supported by Coach Core's charitable programme, creating employment opportunities for 16–24-year-olds who have faced barriers to education, employment, or career progression. We support young people with the potential to succeed who may have experienced financial disadvantage, additional learning needs, caring responsibilities or other personal or socio-economic challenges. No previous experience is required – we're looking for enthusiasm, potential and a willingness to learn. Coach Core provides additional support throughout the apprenticeship, while the employer is responsible for the final recruitment decision.

Qualifications required
GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above, or willingness to work towards Functional Skills as part of the apprenticeship.
Future prospects
Successful completion of the apprenticeship could lead to progression opportunities within community sport, health and wellbeing, youth work, community engagement and project delivery roles.
The apprenticeship also provides a strong foundation for higher-level apprenticeships and further professional development.
