IT Resource Provision – Hardware-related tasks:
- Help staff set up ICT equipment, including laptops, projectors, amplifiers, and interactive whiteboards
- Carry out maintenance tasks, e.g. upgrading and maintaining staff laptops/desktops, cleaning equipment, replacing toner and drum cartridges in printers
- Complete routine tasks, e.g. filling printers with paper, monitoring the equipment loan system, daily setup of ICT rooms
- Perform fault-finding operations, e.g. resolving hardware faults, clearing printer jams, liaising with external support agencies (RM, Capita, HP, Dell, Tasc Software, Cunninghams) to resolve faults quickly
- Install and set up new equipment such as laptops, desktops, projectors, digital cameras, scanners, printers, and video editing equipment
- Support staff and students in the use of ICT resources (laptops, projectors, digital cameras, camcorders, biometric systems)
- Support staff and students with the virtual server environment and online systems, including O365
IT Resource Provision – Software-related tasks
- Install and configure new/upgraded software
- Produce user guides and provide training and ad-hoc instruction to staff
- Monitor and maintain software, e.g. internal internet filtering software
ICT Support
- Maintain a logging system for support requests from staff and pupils
- Ensure support calls with external companies (hardware and software issues) are logged and work with external support engineers to resolve them
- Provide technical assistance at extra-curricular events
- Manage printing resources across the Academy
- Create new user accounts and assign appropriate permissions
- Assign and reset staff and pupil passwords
- Provide support in the use of media, e.g. recording classes and events
- Maintain inventories, asset records, and security marking of ICT equipment
- Support evening events at the Academy
- Ensure all desktops, laptops, visualisers, and projectors are working and well maintained
- Carry out daily audit checks on equipment, ensuring the whole school is covered weekly
