Charlotte Bosworth - Chief Executive Officer

As a respected leader in education, skills, and vocational assessment, Charlotte brings over 30 years of experience combined with a clear vision for innovation and growth.

Before becoming CEO of Lifetime Group, Charlotte spent eight years as Managing Director of Innovate Awarding, driving a fresh, quality-focused approach to assessment. Her extensive career also includes senior leadership roles at OCR, where she contributed to significant qualification and assessment reforms.

Charlotte is Chair of the Federation of Awarding Bodies, a board member of the Association of Employment and Learning Providers, and Vice Chair of Walsall College. She also serves as a Trustee of a secondary school trust and has held board positions at the David Nieper Education Trust and the Learning and Work Institute.

A strong advocate for vocational education and apprenticeships, Charlotte is dedicated to supporting individual development and delivering sustainable, learner-centred growth for employers and learners alike.

Michael Thomas - Chairman

Michael Thomas is a Chartered Accountant (FCA) who has significant experience working alongside management teams as a Board member, providing hands-on support and strategic advice to turnaround and grow businesses and deliver stakeholder value through complex transactions in the UK and Europe. 

Michael’s career has mostly been spent working with large multinational businesses working in a number of jurisdictions during his career, including the UK, Austria, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Slovakia, and the United States.

Amanda Nicholson-Hirst - Chief Delivery Officer

Amanda joined Lifetime in 2013 and is a senior leader with over 20 years’ experience driving high-quality delivery across education, apprenticeships, and vocational skills. She provides strategic leadership for Lifetime’s delivery team, ensuring excellence, compliance and consistency across learner and employer journeys.

Before joining Lifetime'S executive team, Amanda progressed through operational leadership roles where she built strong delivery frameworks, led performance improvement programmes, and strengthened partnerships with employers, regulators, and sector stakeholders. 

Amanda is passionate about vocational education and apprenticeships, and about creating delivery models that support learners, partners, and employers to achieve meaningful outcomes. 

Di Gwinnell - Chief People Officer

Di joined Lifetime in 2023 as Group HR Director. She was previously Group People & Culture Director for a hyper-growth hospitality company that spanned across the UK and Europe. Di has worked as an HR professional across the public sector, retail & hospitality industries and enjoys working in a purpose-led, people-orientated working environment.

Having started her HR Career on an HR Graduate Scheme with a well-known supermarket chain, she’s personally benefited from learning and development investment over her career. This is why her core personal purpose is around investing in others’ careers, to give something back. She’s a fellow of the CIPD, where she mentors aspiring HR Directors and is committed to supporting our core purpose of helping our learners achieve their career goals & acquire new skills. She’s focussed on ensuring that our own life-changing people are equally invested in and developed during their time with us.

Mark Denton - Chief Technology Officer

Mark joined Lifetime in October 2012 as Head of Project Office responsible for the management, governance and delivery of strategic IT & Business projects. In October 2013 Mark joined the Exec team to lead the IT and Projects teams. Immediately prior to joining Lifetime Mark set up a small local fitness business following 10 years at EE and Orange.

Mark was a Senior Manager for 10 years specialising in the delivery of business technology projects and programmes in telecoms. Mark’s worked for organisations spanning technology, telecoms, ecommerce and online information focussing on delivering business change in line with commercial priorities. Mark has a 2:1 degree in International Relations from Keele University.

Paul Swindale - Chief Learning Officer

Paul is a strategic leader with extensive experience in compliance, governance, and education more generally. He has a proven track record of driving improvements, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring strong regulatory performance.

With a background spanning further education, apprenticeships, and higher education, Paul has led teams through complex challenges, shaping compliance and quality functions to support business objectives while maintaining high standards. Paul joined Lifetime in 2025 from Multiverse, where he played a key role in enabling innovation, optimising processes, and delivering meaningful impact for learners and organisations alike.
