Since our launch in 2012, we have worked with over 150 of the biggest sports providers, youth clubs and charities in the country, supporting over 500 young people.

The Community Activator Coach role is the perfect opportunity to understand the role of sport and physical activity in the Community, and as a coach with Bristol Sport foundation you will be helping to deliver sport sessions both in schools and the local community.

As part of the Coach Core offer, BSF provide a dedicated tutor, to support you through the qualification and help you put your learning into practice at work. This tutor will deliver a weekly group education session for all apprentices, allowing you to learn and share ideas from a range of different coaching environments. Furthermore, Bristol Sport Foundation will also provide you with a mentor for day-to-day training, supporting you to grow in the role.

What your apprenticeship includes:
-A mixture of face to face and online catch ups every 4 - 6 weeks to discuss feedback and progress
-A mixture of on and off the job training, including workshops and webinars
-Reviews every 12 weeks with your Line Manager and apprenticeship Trainer
-The chance to get Functional Skills in English and maths (if you don’t already have GCSE)
- Working towards a level 2 Community Activator Coach apprenticeship over the course of 12-18 months

At Bristol Sport Foundation you will be studying towards your Community Activator Coach Apprenticeship Level 2 Standard over the course of 15 months.

Being able to work well with children is a must!

Qualifications required

Missed out on getting your Maths and English GCSE’s? Don’t worry - you can still apply but you will need to complete Functional Skills Level 2 before you finish the apprenticeship. Our Learning Coaches can support you with this so don’t let this put you off!

Future prospects

There are several avenues in which you can progress within Bristol Sport Foundation. The direction of progression is always supported by your mentor but is also largely self-led.

We are eager to help individuals who show consistently strong work ethic to excel in their areas of passion by providing training, additional responsibilities, as well potentially more paid hours and/or salary increments to match.

Over the last few years, we have employed several apprentices to become full time coaches with Bristol Sport Foundation.
