Coach Core’s vision is to drive social mobility through apprenticeships and sport, so that every young person can reach their true potential and inspire those around them. Since our launch in 2012, we have worked with over 150 of the biggest sports providers, youth clubs and charities in the country, supporting over 500 young people. As a result of our ongoing expansion, we are now looking to launch a brand new programme in Leicestershire!

Working hours will be determined based on each employer, but are likely to include evening and weekend work. You will be expected to do at least 22 hours of planning and delivery each week, which are likely to be in a shadowing or assistant role initially, but will also involve administration, monitoring and evaluation. You will also be required to attend around 6-8 hours of education each week, which will take place in a central location with the rest of the group.

To reflect this, you will be provided with a contract of at least 30 hours each week, inclusive of weekly education, for a period of between 15-18 months.

Coach Core Leicestershire will be one of 15 programmes across the UK. In each Coach Core location, employers and other partners work together to provide a unique and exciting range of events and opportunities for all young people.

Successful applicants will be based full time with one employer (for between 15-18 months), but will also be able to access a range of additional qualifications and events not seen on any other apprenticeship programme. Employers are specifically chosen based on their passion and willingness to support young people. The following employers are currently confirmed for the Coach Core Leicestershire programme:

Tom Flowers Cricket Coaching
Leicester City Council - Active Leicester
Leicestershire County Cricket
Leicester Tigers
Waterfront Sports and Education Academy
Leicester City in the Community
Leicester Riders
TayPlay Sport Ltd
Rocket Holiday Camps Ltd
Super Start Sport
CEL Sport
Schulz Coaching
Leicester City Schools Sport Partnership

Total number of roles available: 26

As part of the Coach Core offer, we provide a dedicated tutor, to support you through the qualification and help you put your learning into practice at work. This tutor will deliver a weekly group education session for all apprentices, allowing you to learn and share ideas from a range of different coaching environments.

You will also be supported by an experienced Head Coach within your workplace, who will be there to help you plan and deliver engaging and inclusive sessions. This member of staff will also help you to reflect and develop on your coaching practice as you progress through the programme.

Why should I join Coach Core?
