The role of the Early Years Practitioner is to work and interact directly with children on a day-to-day basis supporting the planning and delivery of activities. The apprenticeship provides great training for team members in a full day care, children’s centre or pre-school setting.
Early Years Practitioner level 2 apprenticeship training course
Who is it for?
For those working in the private or public sector wishing to support and contribute to the mental and physical well-being of children.
Blended delivery
1-1 facilitated learning sessions with Lifetime Learning Coach, face-to-face and remote teaching, and self study via online learning platform - Aptem.
End point assessment
50 minute workplace observation followed by questions, alongside a 60 minute professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence.
Duration
12 months + end point assessment

- Have the opportunity to work regularly with children (0-5 yrs) E.g you work in an early years setting?
- Work with Early Years Foundation Stage E.g. are you involved in providing play and educational opportunities, which are either adult-led or child-initiated?
- Have the opportunity to work alongside parents and/or carers and encourage them to take an active role in their child’s care, play, learning and development?
- Have the opportunity to support colleagues with the assessment, planning, implementation and reviewing for young children?
