Supports chefs who are new to the industry or looking to upskill on their food production knowledge and skills in order to develop confidence and produce high volumes of food in a time-sensitive environment.

If you meet most of these responsibilities as part of your existing role, or if you could be supported to meet these responsibilities during your apprenticeship, you could be suitable for this programme.

 

  • Is your role in a kitchen and are you part of a team?
  • Required to understand food legislation relating to COSHH, HACCP and health and safety?
  • Required to know how to handle and store ingredients in line with food safety requirements?
  • Required to follow organisational procedures for allergen control?
  • Required to understand how to adapt dishes to meet specific dietary and religious needs?
  • Required to prepare and cook a variety of meat, poultry, fish and vegetable dishes?

Note: If you are required to work as a Shift Leader or Supervisor in a kitchen the Senior Production Chef Level 3 apprenticeship may be more suitable for you.
